PTV launches Regional News Block, expands multilingual reach across the Philippines

The People’s Television Network (PTV), the country’s flagship state broadcaster, premiers its PTV Regional News Block, a weekday lineup of news programs bringing timely, relevant, and multilingual information to Filipinos nationwide.

Airing on free-to-air TV and across PTV’s digital platforms, the new block strengthens the network’s mandate to deliver credible and inclusive public service journalism. From Monday to Friday, three flagship programs will run consecutively, showcasing stories from across the archipelago:

  • Kangrunaan A Damag (PTV Cordillera) – 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • PTV News Mindanao (PTV Davao) – 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Ulat Bayan (PTV Manila) – 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

This strategic schedule puts regional voices at the forefront, highlighting local developments as they unfold, and present news in the languages spoken by millions of Filipinos.

Complementing the main programs is an expanded slate of PTV Newsbreak—short, multilingual bulletins aired throughout the day.

These include PTV Balita Ngayon, PTV News Now, PTV Balita Ngayon Cordillera, PTV Balita Ngayon Mindanao, PTV Balita Bicol, PTV Balita Visayas, PTV Balita Cotabato, and PTV Balita Ngayon Kapampangan, offering real-time updates on public issues, disaster response, and community developments. (PR)
