PTV, PRA to highlight value of reclamation, feature on-the-ground stories in new show

Signaling a new era of collaboration for environmental awareness and responsible nation-building, the People’s Television Network, Inc. (PTNI) and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) have entered into a partnership for a new magazine-documentary blocktime show.

Titled “Reclamation Watch”, the program will provide timely updates on the status of reclamation projects throughout the country and aims to increase public awareness on the benefits and value of land recovery and reclamation, not just on the environment but also on the nation’s progress through initiatives of the PRA.

Present during the signing of a memorandum of agreement at the PTNI head office in Quezon City on Friday were Network General Manager Maria Lourdes Choa-Fagar, Scribble Media Creatives head Antonio Bermejo “ABC” Chavez, and PRA Communications head Omni Gruba, as well as hosts Gabrielle Lopez and Daniella Sangalang.

“We are here to formalize our partnership for ‘Reclamation Watch’, a program that will bring a truly transformative story to the Filipino people, the story of our nation’s vision and progress,” Choa-Fagar said.

PRA Assistant General Manager Joseph Literal likewise underscored the program’s objective to help people understand why there are reclamation projects as well as what actions the agency undertakes to address the concerns of those affected.

“‘Yung interview kasi ditong gagawin nila, ang kakausapin talaga nila ay ‘yung mga affected people… kasi ‘yung reclamation kasi may direct impact sa stakeholders [at] may indirect impact,” the PRA official said.

Reclamation Watch starts airing on Sept. 27, 11:00 a.m., at the People’s Television Network. (with report from Isaiah Mirafuentes / PTV News)
