Public transport resumes operation on first day of GCQ in NCR

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs), MRT and LRT have resumed operations August 19, Wednesday.

The MRT-3 and LRT-1 are implementing more stringent protocol in their stations such as checking of temperature and wearing of face mask and face shield.

It is also prohibited to talk or answer calls inside the train while personnel are required to wear full PPEs to prevent the further spread of the virus.

According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the dissemination of information regarding the proper wearing of face shield particularly in Metro Manila will be strengthened.

In relation with this, 60 additional routes were opened for the traditional PUJ by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) while 4 routes were added for the UV Express.

The complete list of routes can be seen in the official website of the LTFRB.

“We are going to continue to plan and open up routes every week.” LTFRB Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra III disclosed. – Report from Sandra Samala
