QC Mayor Belmonte denounces Ludovica’s post

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte denounced the post of Quezon City Task Force Disiplina Enforcer Rannie Ludovica’s and called it “inappropriate” and “irresponsible.”

Ludovica posted in his Facebook account a “shoot to kill” threat for all violators of protocols of the local government.

QC Mayor Belmonte clarified that such action is not tolerated. However, she explained that Ludovica’s post was an “expression of frustration” due to the continuous violations of the minimum health standards that have caused the return to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine. Ludovica has since apologized and removed the post.

For its part, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) advised that those who implement the protocols must have a “disciplined manner at all times” and should not resort to such acts.

“The Department of the Interior and Local Government considers the alleged “shoot to kill” threat by the head of the QC Task Force Disiplina against quarantine violators in Quezon City as improper and illegal and we advise him to desist from issuing similar statements in the future” DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said. – Report from Sandra Samala
