QC Mayor Joy Belmonte orders residents to wear face masks in public

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has issued an executive order in line with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) guidelines to wear face masks in public places.

Under Executive Order no. 25, series of 2020, Mayor Belmonte ordered residents to wear any cover to protect their nose and mouth to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The QC government has directed the QCPD, all barangay officials, and other authorities to implement the EO. Violators will face penalties based on Sec. 9 of the Republic Act no. 11332.

Enforcers are also prepared to distribute masks to those who have none.

The EO will last until the lifting of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon. – Report from Allan Francisco
