Rain showers seen in many parts of PH due to LPA

By Wilnard Bacelonia| Philippine News Agency

A large portion of the country will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, June 26.

In its 4:00 a.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said the LPA was spotted 195 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It said moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides in Visayas, the regions of Calabarzon, Caraga, and Bicol as well as the provinces Marinduque and Romblon.

PAGASA said the LPA has a slim chance of turning into a typhoon, “but it is expected to cross the country in the next two days” particularly Caraga, Visayas, and Mimaropa until it reaches West Philippine Sea by Tuesday, June 28.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. The temperature ranges between 25.1°C and 31.6°C. (PNA)-ngs
