Rains expected as LPA lingers inside PAR

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

The Visayas, Bicol Region, and Region 4-B (Mimaropa) will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the low pressure area (LPA), the weather bureau said on Tuesday, July 26.

Flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA is expected to stay inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) for two to three days.

The LPA, last tracked 340 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, Aurelio said.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Tuguegarao’s temperature could reach 34 °C; up to 32 °C in Laoag, Metro Manila, Kalayaan Islands and Legazpi.

The temperature in Zamboanga and Davao could reach up to 32 °C; 31 °C in Tacloban, Cebu and Iloilo.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)-ngs
