MANILA — The province of Palawan will continue to experience rains as tropical depression “Samuel” maintained strength and continues to move out of the country on Thursday.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that “Samuel” was last eyed at 75 kilometers north of Puerto Princesa City.
“Samuel” is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 65 kph.
The tropical depression, moving west at 25 kph, will bring moderate to heavy rains, which may trigger flooding or landslides over Palawan, including Calamian group of islands, PAGASA said.
The said areas are now under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1.
PAGASA weather specialist Gener Quitlong said “Samuel” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday evening or Friday morning,
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mindoro provinces, Marinduque and Antique will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to “Samuel.”
Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the tropical storm with international name “Man-yi” was sighted 2,460 km east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gusts of up to 105 kph.
It is moving west northwest at 45 kph.
Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 24-30 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 23-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-23 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 24-31 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 22-28 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 24-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius.
