Rains to prevail over PH Friday

MANILA — Cloudy skies and light to moderate rains will prevail over the country on Friday, the state weather bureau said.

The northeast monsoon is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and some parts of Cagayan Valley, and cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weather bulletin.

Cagayan province meanwhile will experience cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front, PAGASA said, warning of possible flash floods or landslides in the province.

Eastern Visayas and the Bicol region, including the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, will have cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies, said PAGASA, also cautioning against possible flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over north Luzon, and light to moderate winds in other parts of the country.  (Juzel Danganan/PNA)
