LAOAG — Members of the Social Security System (SSS) in the Ilocos region will now have easier access to services of the state pension fund, as mall-based firm Robinsons Land Corporation has given the state agency and its services offices (SOs) rent-free space in San Nicolas town.

The old RLC building in San Nicolas houses a one-stop shop Lingkod Pinoy Center, where various national government line agencies, such as SSS and PhilHealth provide services to people.

“We are grateful to RLC for their initiative to help SSS in providing a more convenient place, where members can transact with SSS,” SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc said in a press statement issued Tuesday.

“Robinsons Malls is the first mall to offer rent-free spaces to front-line government agencies, such as SSS through its Lingkod Pinoy Center,” Dooc added, noting the partnership between Robinsons Malls and SSS started in April 2012.

At present, there are 31 SSS service offices located at Robinsons Malls nationwide.

RLC President Frederick Go said the decision to give free space to SSS and other government agencies was born out of personal experience when he had to endure long lines just to get his transactions done. Thus, he said, the RLC had committed catering to the public by providing rent-free space for SSS and other government agencies for the growing needs of their members. (PNA)
