Roque, Galvez approve creation of ‘aftercare program’ for COVID-19 survivors

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and National Task Force against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. are both in favor of the government creating an “aftercare program” for COVID-19 survivors.

The program aims to provide assistance to COVID-19 survivors, particularly those who experience discrimination and depression.

Roque said on Thursday (April 29) that he will propose the creation of the program to the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, adding that it is part of the government’s reintegration strategy for COVID-19 survivors.

In addition to this, Galvez emphasized the significance of social healing, and reconstitution of mental care under the National Action Plan.

“Talagang maraming mga pamilya ang nagbi-breakdown dahil kasi nakikita natin, hindi nila alam ang gagawin. And with that we have talked to the experts so that we can explore iyong tinatawag nating further mental care and social healing after this pandemic,” he said.
