San Juan begins second vax rollout with AstraZeneca

More than 100 healthcare workers are set to be inoculated with AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in the second vaccine rollout of San Juan City on Thursday.

The rollout held at San Juan Arena covers health personnel of San Juan Medical Center (SJMC), including its chief of clinic Dr. Ramon Marin who keeps encouraging his colleagues to get inoculated amid vaccine hesitancy.

More than 700 individuals in the city were already inoculated with the Chinese vaccine CoronaVac.

The vaccination program will continue until all health workers are covered. Other frontline workers and priority groups will follow.

Meanwhile, the implementation of curfew has begun amid rising COVID-19 cases in the city which currently has 148 active cases. Jogging and other exercise activities at the Pinaglabanan Shrine has been temporarily prohibited.

Residents are discouraged to hold gatherings to prevent transmission of the virus. – Report from Bea Bernardo
