Sara Duterte reveals she once dreamed to be a doctor

Vice president-elect Sara Duterte revealed her childhood dream: To be a doctor.

During her inaugural speech, Duterte said she once dreamed of being a doctor, but her dream took a detour as she is set to formally sit as the 15th vice president of the Philippines.

“My life is a testament to the power of a God, whom we know by many names. My younger self was consumed by a dream to become a doctor. I pursued a pathway that I thought could help me realize that dream, but I was directed toward another way. And now I am a lawyer,” Duterte said.

Her dream in the medical field changed when she “committed” herself to governance and public service.

“I was also determined to finish three consecutive terms as Mayor. That will not happen anymore. I am now the Vice President-Elect,” Duterte added.

Duterte took Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy in San Pedro College in Davao City and later Law at San Sebastian College-Recoletos. She passed the Bar Exam in 2005. -gb
