SC suspends work in NCR due to bad weather

MANILA — The Supreme Court (SC) announced suspension of work in all courts in National Capital Judicial Region (NCJR) effective Monday noon due to inclement weather.

“(Senior Associate Justice) Antonio Carpio directs half day work (until 12 noon only) today, June 11 for all Courts in NCJR due to inclement weather arising from continuous monsoon rains,” SC spokesperson Theodore Te said in an advisory.

The suspension of work also covers the Sandiganbayan, Court of Appeals and Court of Tax Appeals.

Carpio, meanwhile, said suspension of work in courts in other areas is upon the discretion of executive judges.

State weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said rains will pummel Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon which may cause possible flooding and landslides in some areas. (Christopher Lloyd Caliwan/PNA)
