Scattered rains over most of PH Tuesday

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

A huge part of the country will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the northeasterly and southwesterly surface windflows, the weather bureau said Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, the Visayas, and the regions of Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao could experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over Luzon.

Rough to very rough seas are forecast over the seaboards of Northern Luzon (Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands)

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advises fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. – gb
