Search, rescue ops for 3 Pangasinan fishers continue

AGNO, Pangasinan – Authorities here have continued the search for three fishermen from Barangay Baruan since they went missing last March 9.

Pangasinan’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported that the three fishermen, identified as Rodel Meru, 38 years old; Jay-ar Decena, 28; and Roger Nituma, 50, set sail on their individual motorized fishing boats with other fishers at 4 p.m. on March 8.

The three, however, failed to return home and were reported missing by the barangay captain of Baruan the following day.

PDRRMO-Pangasinan immediately reported the incident to the Philippine Coast Guard of Bolinao, Masinloc, and Zambales.

On the same day, three other fishermen from Barangay Aloleng, identified as Alejo Rivera, 40; Zoren Rivera, 29; and Jeffrey Pajaro, 30, were also reported missing by their families but they were rescued by other fishers last March 11. (PNA)
