Sec. Andanar asks local governments to boost information dissemination

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has urged local governments to improve their information dissemination amid the COVID-19 crisis, following the downsizing of some private media companies.

Andanar has suggested that media workers be given jobs temporarily to aid the local governments in circulating information since many reporters have lost their jobs.

“Government provides continuous information while private media provides government platform of distribution. Until government media strengthens its transmission this collaboration will be the norm,” Andanar said.

He added it is time for government media outlets to improve their transmission to expand the reach for spreading the necessary information of the government. – Report from Naomi Tiburcio
