Senators’ SALN out: Villar is richest, de Lima ranks lowest

The Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of senators for the year 2019 has been released, with billionaires Cynthia Villar and Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao topping the list.

The net worth of Sen. Villar who also topped the record last year was estimated at ₱3.8 billion with no liabilities, while Sen. Manny Pacquiao netted at ₱3.1 billion.

They are followed by Sen. Ralph Recto and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri with ₱567 million and ₱203 million, respectively. Sen. Bong Revilla made it to the top 5 richest senators with ₱176 million.

Landing within the sixth to tenth rank of the wealthiest senators are Sen. Sonny Angara, Sen. Franklin Drilon, Sen. Grace Poe, Sen. Win Gatchalian, and Sen. Pia Cayetano.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III placed eleventh with a net worth of ₱77 million, followed by Sen. Richard Gordon, Sen. Lito Lapid, Sen. Francis Tolentino, and Sen. Nancy Binay. Senator Panfilo Lacson logged a net worth of ₱48 million.

The five senators with the lowest net worth are Sen. Joel Villanueva with ₱30 million, Sen. Francis Pangilinan with ₱ 19 million, Sen. Bong Go with ₱18 million, Sen. Risa Hontiveros with ₱16 million, and Sen. Leila de Lima with only ₱8 million.
