Names surface for next PNP Chief post

Several names of police officials come up amid the search for the next Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, in anticipation of PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde’s impending retirement on 08 November 2019. The law provides that anyone who holds the rank of Brigadier General and up could qualify.

By virtue of their current position and seniority, the choices include PLtGen. Francisco Archie Gamboa, Deputy Chief PNP for Administration; PLtGen. Camilo Pancratius P Cascolan,
Deputy Chief PNP for Operations; and PMGen. Guillermo Eleazar
Chief of Directorial Staff.

Incumbent Manila Police District Director Police BGen. Vicente Danao and the three PNP officers who accompanied Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in his state visit to Russia also sound off. These are Police Brigadier Gnerals Filmore Escobal (Police Security and Protection Group Director), Rhodel Sermonia ( Police Commumity Affairs Development Group Chief) and Gilbert Cruz ( Police Regional Office 13 Ditector)

PNP head Albayalde has yet to give his recommendation on his successor. The police force expects the next top honcho to continue the mandate against illegal drugs, crimes, and internal cleansing.
