Sinas goes after corrupt cops

As PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas vowed swift and decisive action against members of the police force involved in irregurities and misconduct, recent PNP anti-corruption counter-measures resulted to the arrest three police sergeants in Taguig City and Bicol for alleged extortion.

“The PNP disciplinary policy does not offer any compromise with willful acts of breach of discipline, misconduct and corruption,” Sinas said.

Citing reports from Police Colonel Thomas Frias Jr., Acting Director of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), Sinas said Police Staff Sergeant CARLO MARSABA SISON, a member of Taguig City Police Station assigned with the Tipas Police Sub-station was arrested in an entrapment operation launchd by IMEG at 7:45PM on Wednesday in C6, Napindan Road, Brgy. Napindan, Taguig City

According to Frias, Sison was the subject of a complaint for alleged extortion filed by Jordan Delfin Maxian from whom Sison alleged demanded P15,000.00 purportedly to clear the victim of links to illegal drug activities and exclusion in police operations.
Sion was caught red-handed with the P15,000.00 cash in different denominations.

In Bicol, operatives of the CIDG Regional Field Unit 5 and Albay Police Provincial Office, acting on the complaint of lawyer Paulino Baclao Fernandez Jr., arrested four persons, among them two members of the local police force Camalig, Albay in an entrapment operation launched on Tuesday at 3:40 PM at the Provincial Engineering Office, Barngay Salugan, Poblacion, Camalig, Albay.

PSSG ERNAN MARQUEZ MULLASGO, and PSSG GERALD CALLO CAPUZ, both assigned at Camalig Municipal Police Station were arrested by CIDG agents along with MELODY PALIZA QUIDES a.k.a “Baby” and Security Guard JAY MARQUEZ QUIDES.
Two handguns, five mobile phones and marked P1,000 bills were recovered from the suspects.

According to the complainant, the suspects allegedly demanded from him P2-million otherwise they will kidnap his parents.

The CIDG identified the arrested suspects as affiliated with the Concepcion Group known for Robbery Extortion, Gun for Hire and other illegal activities, operating in Region 5.
