The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) installed on Thursday, Feb. 17, a smart locker system in all LRT-1 stations.

According to LRMC, PopBox is the first smart locker system in public transport in the Philippines.

“This initiative is on the back of LRMC’s passion for innovation anchored on enhancing the commuter experience,” it said.

Passengers may now use LRT-1 stations as pick-up points for their packages purchased via e-commerce platforms or for delivery couriers through partner couriers.

Among its first e-commerce partners are gifting shop SpeedGifts and Filipino products online platform KHPH.

The management said it expects more e-commerce partners to sign up and include PopBox lockers as a collection point soon.
