By Gabriela Baron

Smart Communications, Inc. started putting up free call and charging stations for Albay residents amid the Mayon Volcano unrest.

As of Monday, June 12, free calls, charging, and WiFi booths have been set up at several locations in Malilipot and Camalig.

“The services of PLDT and Smart remain stable and operational in the areas affected by the recent unrest at Mayon Volcano,” PLDT and Smart Vice President Cathy Yang said.

“We have already deployed mission-critical equipment and personnel within the vicinity even before the eruption to assure our customers of zero disruption in our services,” Yang added.

Mayon Volcano remains under Alert Level 3.
