By Gabriela Baron

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended on Friday, May 26, some port trips in preparation for Super Typhoon “Mawar.”

PCG said Grand Ferries’ Seacat One Flight from Cebu City to Calbayog at 2:00 p.m. on May 27 and from Calbayog City to Cebu City at 8:00 p.m. on May 28 are temporarily suspended.

According to the shipping line, this is due to the preventive maintenance that will be done on the said ship and preparations for the upcoming Super Typhoon “Mawar.”

The Philippine Ports Authority advised affected passengers to contact the concerned shipping line for further details.

Super Typhoon “Mawar” slightly intensified as it moved over the Philippine Sea Friday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

It is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility Friday night or Saturday morning.
