Son urges PRRD to take some rest

DAVAO CITY – Presidential son and former vice mayor Paolo Duterte urged his father “to take some rest sometime.”

In a Facebook post addressed to President Rodrigo Duterte, who was celebrating his 74th birthday on Thursday, March 28, 2019, Paolo said he was thankful because their father still find time to spend moments with members of the family despite his hectic schedule.

The President is known for showing up in successive public gatherings. He is also known to conduct meetings late in the evening or even at dawn, depending on the severity of the issues and problems.

“Even if you don’t have enough sleep but you always find time for us. Thank you, Pa,” he said.

Paolo said his father should also pause from work.

“Don’t mind people who are pretending to be intelligent. Inday Sara Zimmerman Duterte will take charge of them,” he said.

As for what he called “mad dogs,” Paolo said he will take care of them.

“I wish you good health at all times so you could continue serving the people. We love you Pa,” he added.

Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go also posted his greetings on Facebook.

“To the man responsible for introducing me to this higher calling called public service, Happy Birthday po! Thank you sir for teaching me that the way to succeed is to put others first before one’s self,” Go wrote.

Go also wished the President long life “so that you can enjoy and appreciate the positive changes you’ve done for our country.”

“May you be filled with more of life’s blessings in return for all the sacrifices you’ve made for the betterment of the lives of every Filipino,” he added.

He also reiterated his pledge to be at the President’s side at all times.

Sara, who was in the forefront of the campaign for senatorial bets under her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago, has not publicly came out with any birthday greetings yet for the President, whom sources said, is in his home here and will most probably celebrate his birthday in private.

However, another source said the President might also visit children suffering from cancer or wards at the Co Su Gian Home for the Aged here as he did in his past birthdays.

A day after his birthday, the elder Duterte will visit Cotabato City for the inauguration of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). (PNA)
