South Korea offers visa-free entry to Jeju Island, Yangyang

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea announced Tuesday, May 31, that the South Korean government is allowing visa-free entry to Jeju Island and Yangyang starting June 1.

Filipino tourists will be granted entry to Jeju Island for 30 days via direct flights only. Tourists are not allowed to travel to other regions outside Jeju.

Meanwhile, Filipino tourists traveling to Yangyang will be required to book a group tour program consisting of five or more people arranged by a designated travel agency and will only be allowed to stay up to 15 days and travel around the cities and places in Gangwon Province and Seoul Metropolitan.

The South Korean government suspended the visa-entry policy in February 2020 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Only fully vaccinated tourists will be granted entry. – ag
