MANILA — The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of the country will bring rains over Metro Manila and other areas on Sunday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Monsoon rains will prevail over Palawan, Mindoro, Zambales, Bataan and western Visayas.
Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Marinduque, Romblon and eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by southwest monsoon and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA).
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
The LPA that PAGASA is monitoring was last eyed at 1,030 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will prevail over the northern and western sections of Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
