Southwest monsoon brings rains over PH; LPA spotted

MANILA — The southwest monsoon (habagat) would bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in most parts of the country as a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted west of Dagupan City in Pangasinan.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that as of 3 a.m., the LPA was last observed at 380 kilometers west of Dagupan City.

Region IV-B (Mimaropa) and the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Bataan and Zambales would experience monsoon rains. Metro Manila, Mindanao, Visayas, the regions of Ilocos, Bicol, Cordillera, Central Luzon and Region IV-A (Calabarzon) would get isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 20-30 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 24-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-30 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 26-32 degrees Celsius.
