Speedboat catches fire off Zamboanga City waters

A speedboat caught fire off Zamboanga City waters Thursday afternoon, Aug. 17, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.

PCG rescued three crew members on board Fadi Laminusa Express who acquired first-degree burns.

According to PCG, the speedboat departed from Tres Marian in Baliwasan Seaside, Zamboanga City to conduct a sea trial when the crew noticed a fire between the fuel tank and battery.

It was declared a fire out around 3:30 p.m.

The speedboat sank 300 meters south of Barangay Mariki in Zamboanga City.
