SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — The Social Security System (SSS) is urging employers in the province of Antique to avail of the Contribution Penalty Condonation Program (CPCP) that will end on September 6 this year.

In a press conference Tuesday, SSS senior vice president Helen C. Solito, who was in the province together with SSS vice president, Dr. Lilani B. Benedian, said the CPCP is a one-time, big-time offering of the SSS to the employers.

“Employers who had a delinquency in the payment of the contributions of their employees could avail of the condonation accrued prior to January 2019,” she said.

She said the CPCP is offered relating to Republic Act Number 11199, also known as the Social Security Act of 2018, signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 13, 2019.

In the province of Antique, SSS acting branch head Phillip M. Lucero said as of July 2019, there are already 155 employers who have availed of the program with the condoned penalties of PHP1,131,171 out of the payment of the principal contribution which is PHP1,791,985.37.

“Our target is 433 employers who have intermittent payment of the contributions of their employees and 56 employers who have not paid the contributions,” he said.

He added their targeted collection from CPCP is PHP13 million.

Meanwhile, Benedian said the SSS is asking the help of the media to raise the awareness of the employers to avail of the CPCP because it will be a big relief for them.

She added the condoned penalty is equivalent to two percent per month of the principal that had been waived because of the CPCP.

“For Panay Island, our targeted employers to avail of the CPCP is 4,201,” she said.

Out of the targeted number of employers in Panay Island, there are only now 1,627 who have availed of the program.
