Statement of Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on the blasts in Lebanon

We express our utmost sympathies and complete solidarity with the people and the government of Lebanon, and all of those who have been affected, including our overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), by the unfortunate blasts in Beirut.

We would also like to extend our condolences to the families of the two Filipinos who were killed in the incidents and commiserate with those whose family members are still missing.

We assure everyone that our government is ensuring the safety of our OFWs there through the Philippine Embassy in Beirut and that concerned government agencies are providing the assistance their families need.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lebanon as the country strives to rebuild from the aftermath of the blast amidst these trying times.
