Sultan Kudarat town bets sign ‘integrity pledge’

KORONADAL CITY – The local police office of President Quirino town, Sultan Kudarat, is looking forward to a peaceful and orderly May 13, 2019 polls, a police officer said Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Emerson Policarpio, the town police chief, issued the statement after Wednesday’s successful “Unity Walk and Integrity Pledge Signing” activity for an honest, orderly and peaceful local election.

The event gathered all candidates of the midterm elections in President Quirino where three candidates are aspiring to become the town’s top executive.

Policarpio said the unity walk that started at the Comelec office and ended at the town gymnasium was an indication all wanted a peaceful election.

“The covenant signing was an indication of the stakeholders’ commitment for a clean, safe, credible and honest election,” he said.

Also in attendance aside from candidates, election officials and police were soldiers, educators who will serve as board of election inspectors, government and non-government organizations, civil society and multi-sectoral groups.

Shabbir Pendaliday, town election officer, has lauded the participation of all stakeholders in the event capped by the flying of white balloons that symbolized peace.
