Veteran journalist Maria Ressa was allowed by the Supreme Court (SC) to travel abroad from March 13 to April 1 to attend her speaking engagements.

The SC First Division in its March 6 resolution granted Ressa’s Fourth Motion for Permission to Travel Abroad subject to some conditions.

Ressa was ordered to observe the sub judice rule or to refrain from discussing her case and other related matters, and to travel on a P100,000 cash bond.

She is also required to notify the Court in writing of her return to the country within five days of her arrival.

The 2021 Nobel Peace Prize awardee is set to travel to Canada, France, South Korea, and the United States of America. -ag
