As the impeachment proceedings continue to gain momentum and traction, the citizenry is keeping a close eye on the developments as the Senate impeachment court holds various discussions related to the articles of impeachment.
This, as results from the recent Tugon Ng Masa survey conducted by OCTA Research between July 4 and July 11, 2026 show a significant drop in the trust and performance ratings of Vice President Sara Duterte for Q2 2026.
The second highest government official saw her trust rating dip from 55% in March to 47% in July, while her performance rating tanked from 50% in March to 45% in July—a decrease of 8 points and 5 points, respectively.
These figures indicate the first time that Duterte’s ratings went below half of the majority, echoing findings from a similar study showing that nearly half of Filipinos treat bribery as the leading impeachment charge against the Vice President.
Moreover, this reflects a unified national response that champions truth and accountability, believing that the pieces of physical and digital evidence presented during the trial were authentic and credible—a view that is shared across socioeconomic classes and age cohorts.
The non-partisan poll was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults aged 18 and above representing the vast majority of Filipinos, with a ±3% margin of error at the 95% confidence level. (with report from JM Thompson | PTV News)
