Suspect in La Salle-Dasma robbery, killing arrested

The suspect in the robbery with homicide case of a student of La Salle University in Dasmariñas City, Cavite was arrested Saturday, April 1, by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Authorities arrested Angelito Erlano y Lacerna, also known as “Kulet.”

Erlano is the suspect in the robbery and killing of La Salle student Queen Leanne Daguinsin.

PNP has taken custody of Erlano after authorities launched a massive hot pursuit operation for his arrest.

The Dasmariñas City Police Station disclosed that a hot pursuit operation was conducted by the operatives of Dasmariñas City Police Office (PPO) and Cavite Provincial Intelligence Unit which led to the identification of Erlano and the location of his house on March 29 around 11:30 p.m. in Barangay San Nicolas 2, Dasmarinas City, Cavite, through the backtracking of CCTV footage.

PCol. Christoper Olazo, Provincial Director of the Cavite PPO, said during the operations, the authorities recovered a black shirt with a white stripe and a blue t-shirt marked with a trademark eagle, believed to have been used by Erlano during the commission of the crime.

The cops also found a black backpack bag with a Sena brand, believed to be owned by the victim.

Based on the records, the suspect had previous involvements in other robbery cases. – cf
