Suspected NPAs ambush 11 cops

DAVAO CITY — A lawless armed group believed to be the New People’s Army (NPA) members attacked the 11 Kiblawan Police personnel onboard their patrol car while traversing at Bulolsalo, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur on Saturday, April 28.

Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO) XI, said the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office (DSPPO) reported that around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Kiblawan police led by Senior Insp. Erich Von Requilman were ambushed, but they were able to escape.

Driz said there was no reported casualty in the incident.

Driz said the police team immediately withdrew from the area and left behind the patrol car riddled with bullets.

The provincial police are conducting follow up investigation and operation in coordination with the security forces. Kiblawan is a known red area. (Rhoda Grace Saron/PNA)
