Taiwan air travel back to normal

After the travel ban Taiwan was lifted, Friday, February 14, 2020, a few airlines have started to open their flights, Monday, February 17, 2020. Passengers from Taiwan have also arrived in the country.

At 11 am, an international airline with flight number BR 271 has landed from Taipei. Most of the passengers came from the United States of America and Canada via connecting flight in Taiwan.

Percival Miranda, a passenger, has been glad that the emergency travel ban has been lifted since he can now go home to his country.

“My mother-in-law just passsed away.” Percival shared, “Kasi medyo nabawasan yung expenses namin instead of magdirect flight kami kinuha namin yung may connecting flight.” he added.

One of the local airlines that was first to open the flight was Cebu Pacific. Here is the list of the Cebu Pacific flights that have opened:

Monday, February 17-until further notice
– 5J 310 Manila-Taipei (Departs 10:40pm)

Tuesday, February 18- until further notice
– 5J 311 Taipei-Manila (Departs 1:45am Mon/Wed/Sat; 2:15am Tue/Thu/Fri/Sun)

February 21, 2020-until further notice

Manila-Taipei
5J 312 (Departs 7:05am)
5J 310 (Departs 10:40pm)

Taipei-Manila
5J 311 (Departs 1:45am)
5J 313 (Departs 10:45am)

Only one departure flight is scheduled for Monday at 10:40 pm, from Manila to Taipei.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, the flights will return to its normal schedule.

The airline reminds that the passengers who did not avail of a refund or travel fund in their scheduled flights will be the first ones to be notified and the first ones to depart the country.

On the other hand, the Philippine Airlines will resume its flights to Taiwan on February 21, 2020. Here is the list of Philippine Airlines’ scheduled flights:

PR890/891 Manila-Taipei-Manila

– Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (February 21 to February 29)

– Daily (from March 1, 2020) PR890 to depart Manila at 6:05 AM and arrive in Taipei at 8:30 AM

PR891 to depart Taipei at 9:30 AM and arrive in Manila at 11:40 AM.
