TFBM to launch 5th service caravan

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur — Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) will conduct its fifth service caravan in Brgy. Bito Buadi Itowa and Sarimanok Transitional Site on Nov. 26.

TFBM invited government agencies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to participate in the event by providing services to internally displaced persons (IDPs), which include relief assistance, medical checkups, and free haircut.

This one-day event, dubbed “Kumpas Barangay”, aims to provide government services and other forms of assistance to families affected by the Marawi siege and to inform the public about the ongoing efforts of TFBM for Marawi’s recovery.

Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Director-General Harold Clavite said PIA and the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) are committed in providing information support and services to the affected communities in Marawi.

“We not only do efforts in managing reports, but we also work directly with the families by engaging in community events, such as the information and service caravans where we, together with relevant agencies of government, come to the very places where support is needed,” he said.

In July this year, TFBM conducted its fourth service caravan in Brgy. Sangonsongan and the Biyaya ng Pagbabago Transitional Site, which benefited around 200 children.

“We are committed to do this on a regular basis. We know that there is so much more work to do to help our people. At the same time, we just want to be there and let them know that we are with them in this struggle while the government does its best to bring the city back to normalcy,” Clavite added. (Calvin Penaco/PIA-TFBM-ICCC)
