The DOH assures disclosed information will not be made public

The Department of Health (DOH) has assured that the disclosed personal information of a probable or confirmed COVID-19 suspect will remain confidential.

According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the information will not be publicized and will only be used by the involved agencies for contact tracing.

This protocol should also be explained to the patients before disclosing their information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act.

The DOH also urges everyone to give accurate and truthful information to expedite the process of contact-tracing and the treatment according to their classification.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases has also announced that it is required for COVID-19 patients to disclose their information to the DOH. – Report from Mark Fetalco
