TY Ulysses leaves ₱124.3M-agri damage

The cost of damage and losses in the agriculture sector due to typhoon Ulysses has so far been estimated at ₱124.3 million.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) reported that the estimated cost is equivalent to more than 5,000 farmers and almost 20,000 hectares of agricultural lands.

Among the reported damages are palay, corn, high-value crops, and livestock in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Bicol Region.

The DA has been coordinating with local governments and other agencies for the distribution of assistance to affected farmers. It has also ensured prepositioned crops, medicines for animals, loan programs, and funds from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation.
