MANILA — Flooding was reported in parts of Metro Manila early Saturday due to heavy rains caused by Typhoon Ompong.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said in an advisory that the following areas were flooded: Roxas Blvd. from the US Embassy to Pedro Gil — gutter deep;
Roxas Blvd – Quirino Ave. to UN Ave. (northbound and southbound) – half-tire deep;
Andrews Ave. to Circulo del Mundo (eastbound and westbound) – half-tire deep;
and
Araneta-Victory, Cubao — tire deep.
Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 has been raised over Metro Manila, according to the latest weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued as of 8 a.m.
Saturday.
