Typhoon ‘Florita’ now outside PAR

Severe Tropical Storm “Florita” has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning, Aug. 24.

Based on National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council data, Regions 1, 2, and Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) were affected, including 1,344 families, and 4,646 individuals in 60 barangays.

A total of 275 classes and 98 work cancellations were declared in Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and CAR, while 290 families or 1,013 persons were preemptively evacuated from Region 2 and CAR.

A total amount of P915,176.50 assistance was provided to Regions 1, 5 and CAR.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the southwest monsoon will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.  –ag
