U-turn slots along EDSA closed by Sept. 28

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced the closure of 13 U-turn slots along EDSA starting September 28 to give way to trips on the bus lane and commuters amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Ang target po talaga natin dito is to give priority sa ating mga commuters na mas nakakarami (Our target here is to give priority to our commuters who make up the majority),” MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia disclosed.

However, the MMDA assured that some U-turn slots will remain open and that an advisory will be made before another closure is implemented. The MMDA issued alternative routes and signage to guide motorists.

Below is the list of U-turn slots to be closed:

U-turn slots in front of Quezon City Academy
North Avenue U-turn slots before MRT North Avenue Station
Santolan/Boni Serrano U-turn slot in front of Camp Crame
Buendia U-turn slot under the Kalayaan Flyover
P.Celle U-turn slots
U-turn slot before Roxas Boulevard near Heritage Hotel
