An uptick in COVID-19 cases is seen in Metro Manila, OCTA Research Group reported Monday, May 30.

In its latest report, OCTA said the positivity rate in Metro Manila climbed to 1.4% from last week’s 1.2%.

“An uptick in cases is observed in the [National Capital Region], but the rate of increase in new COVID cases is very slow at this time,” OCTA said.

The one-week average daily attack rate also increased from 0.51 to 0.52, but remained less than one.

Meanwhile, the reproduction number, which means the number of individuals infected by one case, rose from 1.02 (moderate) to 1.08 (moderate).

The positivity rate went up from 1.2% to 1.4% over an average of 11,047 tests daily, while hospital care utilization rate increased from 22% to 23%.
