Vic Manuel named Player of the Week anew

MANILA — With Calvin Abueva and Jeron Teng out of Alaska, Vic Manuel found an opening to put up another explosion in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Manuel put up a career-high 35 points, 17 coming in the fourth quarter, to lead the Aces to a 103-99 win over the Magnolia Hotshots on Sunday night.

The career game prompted the PBA Press Corps to once again name the six-foot-four forward Player of the Week, beating San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo and Alex Cabagnot, Meralco’s KG Canaleta, Rain or Shine’s Chris Tiu and Raymond Almazan as well as Ginebra big men Greg Slaughter and Japeth Aguilar.

Alaska will stake its six-game winning streak against NLEX on Friday night. (Ivan Stewart Saldajeno/PNA)
