Village councilor, 2 others nabbed for drugs, arms possession

COTABATO CITY — Lawmen arrested Monday a village councilor here and two other cohorts for illegal possesion of drugs, explosives and firearms, police said Tuesday.

In a report, the Criminal investigation and Detection Group – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG-ARMM) identified the suspects as Sadat Ayunan, a councilman of Barangay Kalanganan Mother, and his companions, Kusin Inalogan and Abdillah Ibrahim.

Seized from the three were four big packets of shabu, drug paphernaila, three .45-caliber pistols, a .38-caliber pistol, hand grenade, M-79 geenade launcher, and an assortment of ammunition.

Chief Insp. Allan Uy, CIDG-ARMM spokesperson, said they had long been minitoring the activities of Uy and his cohorts. He said appropriate charges were readied against the suspects for unlawful possession of drugs and war materials. (Noel Punzalan/PNA)
