Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience warm weather with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies, the weather bureau said Monday, April 24.

“Localized thunderstorms are likely, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao,” Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

He added that isolated rain showers are also forecast in Luzon, likely in the afternoon or evening. Isolated rain showers may last for 30 minutes to an hour, he said.

PAGASA has not monitored any low pressure area that may affect the country in the next few days, Badrina said.

Temperatures may reach up to 34 °C in Laoag, Tuguegarao, Metro Manila, Kalayaan Islands, and Puerto Princesa.

The temperature in Iloilo, Zamboanga, Davao may also reach up to 34 °C; and up to 33 °C in Cebu, Tacloban, and Cagayan de Oro.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate winds will prevail in the entire archipelago, PAGASA said.

On April 23, PAGASA also recorded a 46 °C heat index in Legazpi City, Albay at 2:00 p.m.

The highest computed heat index between March 1 to April 23 this year was at 48 °C on April 21 in Butuan City in Agusan del Norte.
