Weather stays warm on Friday

MANILA — Expect warm weather on Friday due to the ridge of a high-pressure area (HPA) and the easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the two weather systems would bring a generally fair and warm weather with cloudy skies and local thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

In its 4-p.m. weather bulletin on Thursday, PAGASA said the ridge of an HPA would prevail over north Luzon, while the easterlies would affect other areas. The HPA signifies nice and warm weather, while the easterlies are warm winds blowing from the Pacific.

Rojas added there are no expected typhoons to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next few days.

The seaboards of north Luzon will have slight to moderate coastal waters due to light to moderate winds.

Other seaboards will similarly experience slight to moderate coastal waters, pushed by light to moderate winds.

PAGASA forecasts a temperature range of 21-38°C across the country until Monday.

On Thursday, PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 24.9°C and a peak temperature of 34.4°C at the PAGASA weather station in Quezon City. (PNA)
