ZAMBOANGA CITY — Police arrested a suspected big-time drug pusher and seized an estimated PHP700,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in this city.

Senior Insp. Julius Dao-An, Police Station 2 chief, identified the suspect as Majir Ismail, 45, a resident of Barangay Mampang.

Dao-An said Ismail was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Phase 1, Alvarez Drive, Barangay Mampang at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday after allegedly selling a small plastic sachet of suspected crystal meth, commonly known as “shabu”, to an undercover cop in exchange for PHP500.

Aside from the marked money, Dao-an said Ismail also yielded two large plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP700,000.

He said the suspect is now detained and awaiting the filing of drug charges.

Last Wednesday’s arrest was the second biggest drug haul this week by the local police in its anti-illegal drug campaign.

The first was on Tuesday where two suspected big-time drug pushers were arrested and PHP800,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Canelar. (Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA)
