Zubiri take oath as 24th Senate President

Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri took his oath on Monday morning, July 25, as the 24th Senate President of the 19th Congress.

Zubiri vowed to have a “productive and effective” Senate who will address the needs of every Filipino.

He also said that he will do his best to “uphold the dignity, integrity, and independence of the Senate” along with his fellow legislators who will pass various resolutions and opinions for the betterment of the nation, and that he will “make sure” it will be all addressed.

Meanwhile, Zubiri is hopeful that he will “live up” to the “trust and expectations” of the Filipinos as a Senate leader.

He said that he has “big shoes to fill in,” but optimistic that he has enough experience in the “two decades of public service.”

“I am ready to put in the work, and to learn more as I go along,” he said.

Zubiri took oath beside his wife and children. He succeeded the post of former Senate President Sen. Vicente “Tito’ Sotto. – gb
