1 killed, 5 arrested in Bulacan anti-drug ops

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — A drug peddler was killed while five other drug suspects were arrested in intensified anti-illegal drug operations in Bulacan on Monday and early Tuesday morning.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan police director, identified the slain suspect as alias “Kaliwa”, who fired at undercover agents, prompting policemen to return fire in Barangay Taliptip in Bulakan town around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police investigators recovered from the suspect seven plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”, an Armscor caliber .38 revolver without serial number, bullets and marked buy-bust money.

Bersaluna added that five other drug suspects were arrested in the City of San Jose del Monte and towns of San Ildefonso and San Miguel. They yielded nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu in buy-bust operations since Monday.

They were identified as: Enrique Bayan, 42, resident of Barangay San Vicente, San Miguel; Aries Delos Santos of Barangay Maasim and Jaime Pastrana, 52, of Barangay Lapnit, both of San Ildefonso; and Jerwin Aquino, 28, and Leonardo Aquino, 27, both residents of Barangay Graceville, City of San Jose Del Monte.  (Manny Balbin/PNA)
